  • Oct 25th: We won the Emmy! I can't believe it!

    It was a great ceremony at the Rocky Mountain Emmy Awards last might. Thank you to my wife Kim for making this happen and Brandon Vallo (the oneman crew) and to Judson Hemperley for his amazing story (a real Americanhero).

  • Sept 16th: Our documentary, Saving Lives in World War II, got nominated for an Emmy Award! Yes, THE Emmy Awards. (No joke! I know... I know... I can't believe it either).

  • Apil 7th: Our four NMSU-Grants interns will be working on live news shows on KOATevery Tuesday in April. They are behind the scenes but it is fun to watchKOAT (channel 7) and know that out Grants students are there making theshow happen.

    The original plan was that the interns would get to watch one live show, but since they have done so well, they get to work as crew and be therefor four live shows.

    Kudos to Tim Brown, Dustin Vigil, Bruce Williams and Ryle Yazzie!


  • January 29th: Our NMSU-Grants web series about Veterans will be featured on AppleiTunes! If you use iTunes, watch for it on their main store page.   • November 17th: CASTING CALL: We have three upcoming projects we are casting for including a feature length project entitled Trinity Rises and short films entitled Princess Daisy and The Killer Copier. We are looking for both male and female actors but especially an elderly male and women 18-25.

    Casting will be Monday (November 24) at 9:30am the NMSU-Grants Creative Media Studio (room 301 of McClure). Email Doug at dbocaz@nmsu.edu or call 505-287-6656 for more information.

    CLUB MEETING: We will have Poco Loco Club meeting at 12pm that same day (November 24).

    GOOD NEWS: Three of our short movies were picked for Tromadance New Mexico. The Cowboys Who Say Me at 3:15 showing on Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Guild Cinema (3405 Central Ave NE in Albuquerque). On Sunday (Nov. 23), The Boy Who Cried Genie is at Noon and The Dark Cowboy is at 5:30pm. There are other films to see in between as well. Come see us on the big screen! Each showing is $5.

  • September 12th: One of our videos about Second Hand Smoke has been selected for a Smoking Awareness Project in Liverpool, England that will be doing presentations to schools in the UK. We're honored to be part of the project.

    Thank you to all the NMSU-Grants students who helped with the project. This project was written, developed and produced completely by our students. I'm proud of how much they've learned and the excellent work they are doing to help our community and now overseas.

    Video and the web are powerful tools that can reach around the world and I'm thankful to President Casados and Dr. Sheski for helping make the resources possible to make it happen.


  • August 29th: Our video "Saving Lives in World War II" has placed in another competition. We made the top 10 in their August competition and enables us to move on to the next level of competition. Kudos to Brandon Vallo and Kim Bocaz-Larson (yes, my wife took my classes) for their excellent work. This video already placed Top 5 in a national competition and was also featured by YouTube this summer.

    Kudos to the team that worked on our Uranium mining documentary as well (Ryle Yazzie, Brandon Vallo, Tim Brown, Lynsey Bohannon and Derrek Antonio). There documentary placed the top 100 in another competition with MSN.com. We're hear about the finalists soon.

    We shared this documentary with KNME and they are now asking our help with doing a new piece for Frontline about Uranium mining returning to Grants.

  • July 5th: Our video "Saving Lives in World War II" made the Top 5 for the American Neighbor Program sponsored by the Republican National Convention. Vote now and support our efforts to recognize Grants resident, Mr. Judson Hemperley, a World War II veteran who went to war to save lives as a medic. This is the same video that was recently featured by YouTube.com as a #1 Featured Video.
